Art Awards
Each year, the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Breakfast Committee hosts a breakfast in honor of the late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and part of this recognition of Dr. King’s legacy includes offering art awards to deserving students in the Boston area.
This year we are happy to accept submissions for Art Awards from the following Boston area schools:
- Hurley K-8 School
- Maurice J. Tobin K-8 School
- Boston Arts Academy
- Fenway High School
- Massachusetts College of Art and Design (MassArt)
- School of the Museum of Fine Arts
On Monday, January 18, 2027, we will gather as the Beloved Community for the 57th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Breakfast.Â
Submissions will be broken down into four (4) categories with the following award compensation:
- Middle School – $250
- High School (Freshmen and Sophomores) – $500
- High School (Juniors and Seniors) – $750
- Collegiate – $1000
Artwork submissions must be inspired by the 2027 Breakfast’s theme: “Until We’re All Free.”
The submission form asks for some general contact information and an area for you to describe your artwork. Students who submit compelling artwork will have the opportunity to be awarded an art award in their respective category.
