Mission
The Martin Luther King Memorial Jr. Breakfast Committee is a 501 (c)(3) organization that provides unique service to our communities through scholarships and other types of recognition. Our mission is to inspire, empower, and organize our community to bring about real, tangible change in the systemic injustices, inequalities, and inequities that plague our nation.
Vision
Our vision is a trailblazing gathering on Martin Luther King Jr. Day that celebrates Dr. King’s vision of the beloved community and pursuit of intersectional justice.
Our Story
For 50 years, St. Cyprian’s Episcopal Church and Union United Methodist Church have collaborated to present a memorial breakfast in honor of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The partnership is an incorporated nonprofit organization, which includes members from both churches, named the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Breakfast Committee.
